Resolution on Our Support of Church Planting
WHEREAS the Great Commission given by the Builder of the Church, our Lord Jesus Christ, commands us to go
and teach all nations (Matthew 16:18; 28:19-20); and
Since the Apostles understood the Great Commission to be best fulfilled in planting new churches (Acts 1:8;
13-14); and
Since this ministry of plating new churches is to continue until the completion of the Church, when the Lord
comes to catch up His Church (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17); and
Since sin continues to hold much of our worlds' population in bondage, with the only answer being faith in
Jesus Christ (John 14:6; Acts 4:12); and
Since the population of the world in general and America is particular continues to grow;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that we, the messengers in fellowship with the Nebraska association of Regular
Baptist Churches meeting for our 50 th Annual Fall conference in Fullerton, Nebraska, October 8-9, 2007,
reaffirm our commitment to the ministry of planting new churches, both in America and the rest of the world;
and
We urge pastors and congregations to teach the emphasis Scripture gives to planting; and
We urge pastors and congregations to support the church planters the Lord is sending out today by enlisting
them for meetings, praying for them, encouraging them through regular communication, helping them in
practical ways, and supporting them financially; and
We urge pastors and congregations to become directly involved in church planting by sponsoring new
churches among various ethnic groups, new areas of metropolitan growth in America, and un-reached areas of
the world until the completion of the Church, when the Lord catches up His Church to be with Him
forevermore.
